This is the battle music for world 3, The Wasted Pit.
The weird sounds of the sewers from all angles and all frequencies, just more and more pouring down, unintelligible melodies coming and going. Heavy use of the MOOG DFAM alongside a 7/4 time, giving it a "weird rushed feeling". In the first half of the song each time a cycle starts anew it is extra emphasized to give a feeling of "we're pushing through this sludge!!".
The middle part is almost like stress relief, we're going somewhere, brushing off the toxic waste and off to a conference between fist and demon face! The ending part is pretty fun instrumentally, bending and stretching guitars and reamping them making them sound weird and intoxicated, out of control. Alongside the guitars, I sampled this very bizarre phone-line error that was glitching out, the weird arpeggio that plays is pretty much based out of that. That was a extremely fast recording situation, no time to plug it in, just turned a microphone towards the phone and cranked the preamp!
